WHO WE ARE/WHAT WE DO
ASPD was formed in 2003 by a group of educators desiring to provide teachers with low-cost, high quality options for professional development. We recognized and designed solutions for professional developoment that matched 21st century life: flexibility, options, and low-cost!
Since 2008 (when all the groundwork was laid), we are proud to have helped hundreds of teachers achieve a wide variety of professional development goals.
In 2010, ASPD expanded and now supports the business sector. The increase of English language learners entering America’s workforce, coupled with the poor schooling that has plagued minority and income commuities presents increasing challenges to employers.
ASPD programs for workforce development include ESL classes, essential skills development (reading, writing, mathematics), Spanish in the workplace (particularly for medical providers), and more. In addition, ASPD provides programs to support leadership and management development as well.
Regardless of where and to whom our programs are offered, we are committed to developing each individual participant.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
We noticed that educators, primarily, are stuck with few options for professional development. In contrast, other profession provides a wide range of delivery models and every other aspect of their lives is permeated with flexibility and options with everything from “on-demand” cable, HULA, Pandora, Live365, and iTunes, YouTube, WebConferencing, and more.
